Do you use a sketchbook or art journal in your creative practice or would you like to start? Have you ever made your OWN sketchbook or journal?! During this beginner workshop, we will create a handmade sketchbook that can be used for drawing, writing, or both! You'll learn basic bookbinding terms and techniques, safely utilize necessary tools, and use the 5-hole “pamphlet stitch” to create a handmade book. Examples will also be shown of how to add multiple sections to create thicker books, methods for dealing with different-sized papers, and other ways you can individualize your books. In addition, we will discuss how to start or maintain a sketchbook or art journaling practice, and everyone will receive a list of prompts that can be used to spark your creative journey. Before you…
